Halley Zien
Halley Zien (b. 1980s, New York) is a Brooklyn-based contemporary artist known for her three-dimensional paintings that explore the tension between idealized domestic spaces and inner psychological states. Her work features distorted, performative figures and collaged elements from interior design magazines and cast-off clothing, creating layered narratives about identity, perception, and emotional complexity. Zien’s innovative use of stitched fabric and altered imagery results in claustrophobic interiors that reflect shifting perspectives and human vulnerability.
Her work has been shown in solo exhibitions at BravinLee Programs and Brooklyn Art Space, and featured in group shows including The Brooklyn Artists Exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum.
