Nicole Mazza
Nico Mazza is an accomplished artist specializing in textile and embroidery. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Mazza’s art integrates strong pictorial and sculptural elements to explore the construction and deconstruction of the body. Her pieces challenge socio-political norms of gender and sexual identity, often juxtaposing delicate needlework with bold, subversive characters. Through her work, Mazza invites viewers to confront and reconsider their own socially constructed narratives, offering a path to liberation from these roles and norms.
Mazza's work has been showcased in numerous group exhibitions across the US, South America, and Europe. Her notable solo exhibitions include “Swan Song” at Centro Cultural Borges, "El Deseo de No Querer" at Quimera Gallery in Buenos Aires, and “Blandir el Quiebre” at Crudo Contemporáneo in Rosario, Argentina. She has also participated in prominent art fairs such as Arco (Lisbon), ArteBA (Buenos Aires), Frieze (London), and Pinta (Miami).
